Ms. Kemei and Mr. Kimutai are flying the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ticket, while Mr. Abdi Is flying on a party ticket belonging to the National Agenda Party of Kenya (NAPK).

A gazette Notice released on Sunday by the IEBC indicated the confirmed candidates that to participate in contesting for various positions in the election polls came on August 9th.

The three join a list of leaders who have been elected unopposed in the previous elections.

The IEBC had also listed him as the only candidate for the area.

But perhaps most notable is Abdul Haji’s direct entry to the Garissa County Senate, following the social media popularity that he earned after he rescued Kenyans at Westgate mall during a terrorist attack. Mr. Haji was declared the senator by IEBC after failing to have no competitor.
