Ruto told the President to leave his children out of their differences and warned that no form of intimidation would derail his ambition to be the next head of state.

“Stop talking about me and talk about your candidate. Be a gentleman. Have some gratitude. We are the ones who helped you. When you needed people, we stood by you till the last minute. Do not harm my children,” Ruto said to the cheering Nandi residents.

“I want to ask the President not to be the source of threats in Kenya. Stop threatening us. Your work is to ensure that all Kenyans are safe. Stop telling us that we will know that you are President. We are not people who can be threatened. We are the ones who elected you,” he added.

Ruto made it clear that he will see the President retire peacefully if he wins the August 9 Election.

He also urged the voters to maintain peace and coexistence during the election period.

However, earlier on the President while touring Nakuru regions warned voters against Ruto’s ill promises giving the example of ‘returning the port operations to Mombasa’, saying no one can move the ocean from Mombasa to Nakuru. Uhuru termed Ruto’s promise populist and deceitful.

“There is nothing bad like politics of deceit, disrespect, intimidation, and insults which don’t put food on the table. I have seen a leader whom I don’t want to mention say we have taken the port from Mombasa to Naivasha,” Uhuru stated.

“I can’t move the ocean to Naivasha. Only God can do that. Not even a president who has whatever power can. We brought this railway here to attract investors who would not have come,” he added.

The President administered the innovative ceremony of the Ksh90 billion Turkish Special Economic Zone (SEZ) next to the Naivasha Inland Container Depot (NICD).
