On his Twitter handle, Sifuna appreciated the Jubilee party for agreeing to back up the requisite ODM candidate Anthony Oluoch promising to apologize to Bahati’s wife for the acute transilience.

“Asante sana Jubilee Party Nairobi for resolving the Mathare question for us. We now have a candidate. Hiyo kijana ya kulia nitachukua apology yake kwa Diana personally,” said Mr. Sifuna.

However, Bahati reacted to Sifuna’s statement by cautioning him from mentioning his wife on political matters.

He further told the secretary-general to respect women.

“Mr. Sifuna keep your mouth from mentioning my wife in your cheap politics! Have some respect for women,” he responded.

The squabbles between the duo started on Monday after Sifuna publicly announced at the joint delegates meeting between ODM and Jubilee members that it had decided to pick Anthony Oluoch as the Azimio preferred candidate in Mathare while Bahati who is battling for the same seat to step down.

The ODM Party Secretary-general who is Azimio La Umoja Nairobi senatorial candidate promised that the coalition will spare a position for Bahati to work upon winning the August polls.

“Zoning was done perfectly even here in Mathare we have agreed that it’s an ODM zone. We only have one candidate in Mathare and that is Anthony Oluoch, this young man called Bahati is my young brother and we will talk. I will make sure that we find him another position within the Azimio government,” Sifuna said.

Bahati who was given the Jubilee ticket last month was cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to vie for the Mathare constituency amid the recent decision that was raised yesterday by the coalition seeking him to step aside.

While reacting to Edwin Sifuna, Bahati has denounced him alleging that he was paid good money by the Mathare Mp to sabotage his campaign.

He further insisted that despite all blockades, he shall not step down, and eventually his name will appear on the ballot.

“You have already been given three million by my losing opponent to lie that I have stepped down and that you will offer me a job in the Azimio government. You want to give me a job as who? Stay away from Mathare politics and focus on your bid or you will lose again like in 2017,” Bahati said.
