Azimio La Umoja  Coalition Presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga has urged voters in his Nyanza region to go for a  of a six-piece system of voting.

This comes amidst tension on the rise of a resurgence of stronger Independent candidates supposedly gaining ground in Kisumu, Siaya, Homa Bay, and Migori counties amongst others.

The presidential candidate now urges the people of Luo Nyanza into voting for all the ODM candidates to ensure that he is not a toothless president once in power.

Speaking moments after he presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Affordable Houses at the former Makasembo Estate.

Despite the domination of ODM over the years, there has been a rise in growing numbers of perceived stronger independent candidates who have continually posed a worry to ticket holders challenging the sure bet idea of ODM candidates.

Speaking Odinga told the citizens that there is a need for loyal troops who will work with him at the national level.

Mr Odinga said, “I do not want to be a powerless and toothless president without numbers, you must give me soldiers who will work with me in running the government.”

A push for a six-piece has continued to rub the other fringe parties within the Azimio la Umoja Coalition the wrong way, with many opposing plans to zone the country and prevent them from fielding candidates, especially in the ODM strongholds.

Dr Oburu Odinga has admitted that the party’s campaigns have been affected adversely by the lawsuits and anxiety witnessed after the nominations.

Dr Oburu stated, “This anxiety and unresolved disputes have affected our campaigns because everywhere you go on the ground, people are complaining and that is why we are in Nairobi to try and resolve the matters because Bondo, Gem, and Alego are at a standstill and our people are getting demoralized.”

Citing that this may affect the final presidential votes come August 9th hence requested the party to go ahead and do as instructed by the courts to achieve an end to the stalemate.

Raila’s visit to Kisumu purposely is to open the Kibuye market and Uhuru Business Park is also aimed at quelling the tension within regions staged with independent candidates.

As he also drums support for the ODM party nominees for various elective seats.

These matters are crucial for the evidenced muddying of the water for ODM nominees by the Independent candidates who are reminding citizens to vote for a person and changes/ capabilities.

Its high time change comes from the person and their vision for the people as well as manifesto instead of voting blindly alongside the party.
