During the long-awaited structuring of a way forward by the Safina Party, presidential candidate, Jimi Wanjigi, reached out with a nomination for a running mate.

The unveiled running mate Willis Otieno, is a lawyer and former aide of Raila Odinga whom Wanjigi speaks of as a courageous young man who has walked a long journey with him. The function had more than 200 delegates in attendance as the event marked a step towards change.

Itwika is about changing the order and this change will manifest in generations as there is the inclusion of the 99% citizens. This is the time to change the black governor who took over from the white Governor and has since been oppressing the people, enforcing policies and loans.

There has to be a change from the notion that the rule of law is a by the way and instead let it be the only way. A need for change is at the doorstep and youths being the majority citizens have awakened, youths are getting in government since tomorrow is now,” Wanjigisaid.

“This is a country that has for too long dealt with too few people. We don’t just want to change the monkeys but also the forest. I want Kenyans to stand up and be counted, they can’t plan us, change the people within and introduce new policies to deal with these troubles Kenyans face,” Wanjigi added.

Strategy for Change

Citing the past struggles of attaining Independence, Jimi addressed the need for balance between the rich and poor within the country, a gap that is too huge hence causing difficulty in comprehension of challenges faced by citizens.

The need for production is the answer. Through the team’s agenda, there is a goal to ensure production is enhanced and as a businessman, the presidential candidate believes this will offer Kenya a chance to overcome poverty, ignorance, and diseases.

Going forward to Reset. Safina’s presidential candidate believes it’s time for a Tano Fresh not the TanoTena since its fruits the Mwananchi has witnessed and are they that appealing? Urging the citizens to thereby vote for change despite the question of experience.

A reminder to citizens that when Kenya attained independence the leaders had no experience yet still managed to set up a solid foundation that needs to be emulated.

Reset is important in order to avoid carrying the baggage of the last government’s tenure hence set goals that include production, which will cater to employment rates as well, healthcare efficiency, and inclusion of the citizens.

Quoting that; It’s time we stop the mutating structures and Leaders of government that keep emerging each and every election year.

Running Mate Willis Otieno Acceptance

While accepting the nomination by Wanjigi, Otieno rallied the youths who are up to 80% of the voters in Kenya, to overwhelmingly vote for them come August saying they hold the key to the huge unemployment witnessed.

Further urging on the urgency of solving problems that Kenya is facing and has been facing stating that the problem causers can’t be relied on to offer solutions. Expressing the pain that youths who are graduates face having to go for menial jobs just to survive while they hold proficiency that can be of benefit to them even in jobs in other countries or within.

Emphasizing that a country that can maximize on exploiting the full potential of its people will automatically realize its full potential. For example; in jobs of construction done by the Chinese, the expertise can be taught to Kenyan young engineers and enable them to do the work, and earn a living off of it. Enough is Enough, Jimi and Willis, and the congregated audience shouted in a bravo mode ‘FagiaWote.’
