President William Ruto on Sunday joined worshippers at the Full Gospel Church in Gatunduri, Embu County, in a service that brought together clergy, elected leaders and residents.

The President was received by Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire, alongside several leaders from the region, including Tigania East MP Mpuru Aburi, Mbeere North MP Leo Wamuthende and Runyenjes MP Eric Karemba.

The service centred on prayer, national unity and development, with church leaders urging Kenya’s political leadership to work together in addressing the country’s challenges.

Religious leaders prayed for peace, cohesion and continued progress, while encouraging leaders to place the interests of citizens above political differences.

The visit forms part of President Ruto’s continued engagement with religious institutions across the country. In recent months, he has regularly attended church services, where he has spoken about the role of faith communities in promoting moral values, peaceful coexistence and national unity.

Sunday’s gathering also gave local leaders an opportunity to reaffirm their support for development programmes being implemented by the national government.

No major policy announcements were made during the service, which largely focused on worship and prayers for the country.
