President William Ruto has revealed that he has formally invited Arsenal Football Club to visit Kenya after the North London giants ended their 22-year wait for the Premier League title, triggering massive celebrations among supporters across the country.
Speaking during an interview with Reuters on Thursday while attending the G7 Summit in France, the Kenyan President, a well-known Arsenal supporter, expressed admiration for the passionate response from local fans following the club’s long-awaited championship victory.
Arsenal secured the Premier League crown at the end of May, overcoming fierce competition from rivals Manchester City to claim their first league title since 2004.
Thousands of Arsenal Fans Celebrated Across Nairobi

The title triumph sparked scenes of jubilation in Nairobi, where thousands of supporters poured into the streets dressed in Arsenal’s iconic red and white colours, waving flags and celebrating the historic achievement.
President Ruto admitted he was surprised by the scale of the celebrations witnessed across the capital city.
“Arsenal finally closed the gap and it was a huge celebration. I was shocked in Nairobi,” Ruto told Reuters.
The celebrations highlighted Arsenal’s immense popularity in Kenya, where the club enjoys one of the largest fan bases among Premier League teams.
President Ruto Hopes for Arsenal Tour in Kenya

The Head of State said discussions are underway to explore the possibility of Arsenal visiting Kenya next year, describing it as a special opportunity for the club to connect with its loyal East African supporters.
“It was a big celebration and I am trying to see whether sometime next year Arsenal can come to Kenya,” he said.
Ruto added that an official invitation had already been sent to the Premier League champions.
“I have sent an invitation because I think it would be a great moment for Arsenal to come to Kenya. They have great fans.”
A visit by Arsenal would be a landmark moment for Kenyan football enthusiasts and could further strengthen the relationship between the club and its extensive fan base across the region.
