US President, Donald Trump has deleted a viral post from his social media platform, Truth Social, after it sparked intense backlash, even among his own supporters.
The now-deleted post featured an AI-generated image portraying Trump in a Christ-like manner, igniting accusations of blasphemy and inappropriate self-comparison.
AI Image Sparks Religious Outrage
The controversial image showed Trump dressed in flowing white garments with a red shawl, evoking traditional depictions of Jesus Christ.
In the image, he appeared to be placing glowing hands on a sick patient in a hospital bed, surrounded by a soldier, nurse, and onlookers seemingly in awe.
The post was shared on Sunday evening and quickly gained traction online, drawing both criticism and concern.
By Monday morning, many users, particularly from Trump’s conservative and religious base, had condemned the imagery as offensive.
Backlash from Within His Support Base
What stood out about the controversy was that criticism largely came from Trump’s own right-wing supporters. Many argued that using the image of Christ in a self-promotional context crossed a moral and boundary.
Some supporters labeled the post as disrespectful to Christian beliefs, while others expressed disappointment, urging greater sensitivity when invoking religious symbolism.
Following the growing backlash, the image was quietly removed from Trump’s Truth Social account. No official statement was immediately issued explaining the decision to delete the post.
