Nairobi County Chief Officer for Public Engagement Geoffrey Mosiria has weighed in on a troubling relationship incident that left a woman identified as Claire hospitalized, describing the situation as a painful reminder of how love can spiral into harm when emotions are mishandled.
In a heartfelt statement, Mosiria expressed concern over the unfortunate turn of events, noting that what began as love ultimately deteriorated into hate.
His remarks come amid growing public discourse around relationships that have turned violent in recent days.
“I have been following this story keenly, and it is unfortunate that what started with love has ended with hate,” he stated.
Mosiria extended his well wishes to Claire, hoping for her quick recovery as she receives medical care. At the same time, he used the moment to address men directly, urging them to approach relationships with maturity and intention.
“To the lady Claire in the hospital, I wish you a quick recovery. To the men out there, please, it doesn’t have to get to that point,” he said.
He emphasized the importance of commitment in relationships, suggesting that men should only deeply invest emotionally where there is clear intent for a long-term future.
“If you must invest your love, invest with a ring in your hand, or invest in someone who will graduate with three certificates: one from college, the birth certificate of your child, and a marriage certificate,” he added.
In equal measure, Mosiria called on women to exercise honesty and emotional integrity.
He warned against leading partners on without genuine affection, noting that such actions can have serious emotional consequences.
“To our ladies, if you know you do not love that man, please do not play with his feelings,” he urged.
Mosiria’s statement adds to increasing concern across Kenya about relationship violence and emotional distress among couples.
