Jamaican dancehall star Vybz Kartel has publicly dismissed circulating claims that he is set to embark on an East Africa tour in May 2026.

In a strongly worded statement, the artist, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, said neither he nor his management team has any knowledge of the purported tour that has been widely shared online.

“It has come to my attention that a post is circulating claiming that I will be embarking on an East African tour in May 2026,” Kartel said in a statement.

“Let me be absolutely clear: neither my management nor I have any knowledge of, or involvement in, any such tour,” he added.

Warning Over Possible Concert Scams

The dancehall icon warned fans, promoters and venues against engaging with individuals advertising the alleged shows in Nairobi, Kampala and Kigali, stating that such promotions are unauthorized.

According to Kartel, anyone claiming to book or promote the supposed concerts is misleading the public and could potentially be involved in fraudulent activities.

“Any individuals, promoters, or platforms claiming to be booking or advertising these shows are acting without authorization and are misleading the public,” he stated.

He further advised fans not to send money or engage with anyone promoting the alleged events.

Only Official Channels Can Announce Tours

Kartel emphasized that all official announcements regarding his concerts or tours will only come from his verified platforms or authorized representatives.

The artist clarified that the only people permitted to speak or act on his behalf are his manager Linton T. J. White and his attorney Jason Mitchell.

“Anyone falsely using my name to promote unauthorized events will be dealt with accordingly,” the statement concluded.

The clarification comes after promotional posts circulated online claiming Kartel would perform in East Africa alongside Kenyan artist Charisma, with dates suggested for May in Nairobi, Kampala and Kigali.

However, Kartel’s latest statement appears to have firmly shut down those claims, leaving fans awaiting any official announcements from the dancehall legend’s verified channels.
