On a night meant to crown Lamine Yamal, it was Estêvão Willian who took centre stage.
Chelsea arrived at Stamford Bridge with a narrow lead and an edgy atmosphere humming through the stands. Barcelona, reduced to ten men, still carried belief. Then the 18-year-old Brazilian did something special. Something that made the crowd rise in unison.
Receiving the ball from Reece James, Estêvão cut inside with calm assurance. He shifted past Alejandro Balde as if gliding and rifled the ball into the roof of the net. It was precise. It was bold. It was unforgettable.

Maresca insisted his team selection was about balance and trust. “We use all our players. Tonight, the plan suited Estêvão. Tomorrow it could be someone else. The team always comes first.”
