A team of Indian doctors from the Sreedhareeyam Ayurvedic Hospital in Kerala, India, who treated the late Raila Amolo Odinga, have arrived in Kenya to pay their final respects to the former Prime Minister.
The doctors were received in Mombasa by Governor Abdulswamad Sherrif Nassir, who also serves as the ODM Deputy Party Leader, alongside Raila’s daughter, Rosemary Odinga.
“This morning, I received Rosemary Odinga in Mombasa, daughter to our departed Party Leader, H.E. Raila Amolo Odinga, C.G.H, who was accompanied by doctors from Sreedhareeyam Ayurvedic Hospital in Kerala, India,” Governor Nassir posted on X.
“They are in Kenya to pay their final respects to a man whose life and legacy transcended borders,” he added.
“The global outpouring of love for Baba is a reflection of his extraordinary journey — one defined by courage, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to justice and humanity. May his spirit continue to inspire us to build the Kenya he dreamed of — united, just, and full of hope.”

Raila Odinga, who passed away on October 16, 2025, at the age of 80, succumbed while undergoing medical treatment in Kerala, India.
The veteran statesman had been receiving Ayurveda therapy for multiple chronic conditions, which were linked to long-term injuries and health complications sustained throughout his decades in public service.
Since his passing, tributes have poured in from across the world, from heads of state, political allies, and ordinary citizens, celebrating Raila’s unwavering fight for democracy, justice, and equality.
The arrival of his Indian doctors symbolizes the international dimension of his legacy, touching lives and building relationships far beyond Kenya’s borders.
