For years, the rivalry between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj has flickered on and off. This week it roared back into full flame—before the two stars appeared to call time, at least for now.
On 1 October, Nicki Minaj reignited the feud with a string of personal barbs aimed at Cardi B and her family. Within hours, Cardi hit back, accusing her rival of jealousy and lashing out with threats of a face-to-face confrontation.
The exchanges spilled across social media in what many fans described as one of their most toxic rounds yet. Nicki mocked Cardi’s career and family life, while Cardi accused Nicki of harbouring deep resentment and unresolved trauma. At one point, Cardi declared online:

“This my last time responding to you… I’m not throwing away my career and my endorsements going back and forth with words… I’ll see you when I see you.”
Nicki, however, continued posting. She taunted Cardi’s album sales and, in a sudden shift of tone, turned to religious language, calling herself “a prophet” and insisting that her family was under divine protection. She also threw jabs at fellow artists including Quavo, Offset and Billie Eilish.
Cardi responded once more, accusing Nicki of erratic behaviour. But the feud seemed to cool when Nicki addressed her fans in softer terms.
“Ok Barbz. Peace & love. I’ll pray for you my darlings. You’ve been such a light in my life. God bless you… Aaand scene.”

The timing was notable. This was the third heated exchange in just two days. On 30 September, a separate row had already spiralled into bitter insults about each other’s families, career successes, and album sales.
Cardi’s latest album Am I The Drama? recently debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, making her the first female rapper to see both of her first two albums top the chart. Nicki countered by reminding fans that her Pink Friday 2 still holds the decade’s biggest debut for a female rap album. She is due to release her next project, NM6, in March 2026.
For now, both artists appear to be stepping back. Whether this fragile pause holds—or gives way to yet another public clash—remains to be seen.
