Kayole Starlets are gearing up for their long-awaited return to Kenya’s Women’s Premier League, determined to prove they belong among the country’s top clubs.

The Nairobi-based side, crowned champions of the Women’s National Super League last season, has been training intensely while reinforcing its squad with new signings.

Head coach Mary Adhiambo confirmed that three players have joined the team: Prexy Shivikhwa from Milima Queens, Shannie Kanenge from Zetech Sparks, and Peris Oside from Bungoma Queens.

“These signings bring in both experience and talent. They will help us compete at the highest level this season,” Adhiambo told reporters.

For Kayole, the road back to the top flight has been anything but smooth. Last season, the club struggled with limited finances and player shortages. Many of their squad members were students, forced to step away during exam periods.

“Last season taught us a lot,” Adhiambo said. “We’ve worked hard to correct our mistakes, and the team is now stronger.”

Their resilience will be tested immediately. The Starlets open their campaign at home against Kenya Police Bullets, the reigning champions and one of the toughest sides in the league.

Despite the challenge, optimism runs high in the camp. For a club that has fought through hardship, simply being back in the Premier League marks a new beginning — one they hope to build into lasting success.
