Drake Escalates Feud With Kendrick Lamar on New Track ‘Dog House’
Drake has reignited his long-running feud with Kendrick Lamar, dropping a pointed new single, Dog House, in which he takes direct aim at the Compton rapper.
The track, released on Monday night, comes only days after Drake’s last single with Yeat and Julia Wolf. He first teased Dog House on his Iceman livestream before unveiling it to fans.
One of the song’s most striking moments is a thinly veiled jab at Lamar’s celebrated hit Money Trees. “Fuck a money tree, I’m a cash cow / If I ain’t give a fuck then, I don’t give a fuck now,” Drake raps, in what many listeners see as an unmistakable swipe at his rival.
Elsewhere on the track, the Canadian star continues with his familiar habit of namedropping. “Jump like Ja Morant, she ’bout to jump, ’bout to jump / Lil’ girls trip, lil’ photo dump, yeah, what? / Just like Nicki said, money make her cum, what? What?” he rhymes, referencing basketball, pop culture, and long-time collaborator Nicki Minaj. He also tips his hat to rap pioneers like Kriss Kross and The Notorious B.I.G.
The release arrives amid renewed scrutiny of Drake’s relationship with fellow rapper Young Thug. In a leaked phone call from prison, Thug chastised him for not intervening in his legal troubles. “Drake, you Drake, go talk to the president,” he said in frustration. “Don’t call me talking about, ‘Fix something’ for you to have a song from a n****. Man, ain’t nobody give a fuck about no song.”
Drake has not publicly addressed the criticism. However, he is known to have gifted Young Thug $1 million following the Atlanta rapper’s release last year, after a plea deal saw him sentenced to time served.
The Dog House release also coincides with a wave of personal revelations about Thug, including leaked audio in which he admitted to cheating on his partner, singer Mariah The Scientist, before his 2022 arrest. After the recordings circulated online, Thug issued an apology on X, asking fans to leave her out of the controversy.
As for Drake, the track signals he is far from finished with his public sparring. With Lamar and others in his lyrical crosshairs, Dog House adds yet another chapter to one of rap’s most enduring rivalries.
