Nairobi -Gospel singer Ben Githae has rejected claims that he abandoned his daughter, who is currently receiving treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital.
The child, born to Githae and his former partner, Rose Mwangi, is said to require urgent blood transfusion and medical assistance.
The singer went public after posting screenshots of his conversations with Mwangi, in which she pleaded for help. In one message, Githae wrote, “Tunaomba damu,”-a call for blood donations. He also shared Mwangi’s contact, asking Kenyans to step in, saying the burden had become too heavy for her alone.

The disclosure quickly sparked debate online. Some Kenyans accused the artist of turning a private family matter into a public spectacle. Others offered support, with a few pledging to donate blood to help the child.
This is not the first time Githae has been drawn into public controversy over his family life. Years ago, he admitted to fathering twins outside marriage, a confession that has followed him since.
This time, however, he was keen to stress that he has remained present in his children’s lives. “I have always supported my daughters, including their education,” he said, adding that he would not abandon them now.
For Mwangi, the concern remains immediate—the need for urgent medical care. For Githae, the challenge is balancing his personal reputation with his role as a father under public scrutiny.
