Kenyan R&B star Otile Brown has finally broken his silence on the alleged fallout with members of the defunct boy band Sauti Sol -Bien and Savara, – after a comment by one of his most loyal fans, Brian Mwenda, reignited the long-simmering beef.
Mwenda had taken to Instagram to question how the tension between Otile and the Sol Generation artists began. Otile, never one to shy away from a real talk moment, responded directly in the comments – and he didn’t hold back.
“Brayo, they know their music don’t stick,” Otile wrote. “How is Jay Z charting number 7 on YouTube na hio kelele yote na ngoma zote ametoa? Something is not adding up.”
He went on to highlight that even without releasing new music recently, he’s still charting:
“Mind you I’m number 17 because of ‘One Call’, a 2-year-old song and ‘Umenipendea Nini’. I haven’t dropped anything serious for a minute.”
Otile drew a clear line between his artistry and that of his peers:
“You can’t compare vibe music na mziki timeless.”

While Otile didn’t mention names directly, fans quickly connected the dots. Comments flooded in, with some suggesting Bien’s song “My Enemies” was aimed squarely at Otile.
“We jua ile ngoma ya ‘All My Enemies Are Suffering’ iliimbiwa Otile peke yake,” one user posted.
Other fans revived old rumours that Otile turned down an invitation to join Sol Generation. One viral comment read:
“Jaba inasema Otile alikataa kuingia Sol Generation juu alikua mkubwa kuliko Sauti Sol yote na akawanyima collabo.”
Support for Otile poured in, many praising him for his solo journey:
“@otilebrown is a self-made street hustler musician, who has been solo for more than 10 years. Mahali Bien ako in his solo career, Otile alikuwa 9 years ago,” another fan noted.
Others were even blunter in their comparisons:
“Show ya Bien bila ngoma za Sauti Sol na ya Otile, unaenda wapi? Let’s be honest.”
So far, Bien and Savara, have not publicly responded to Otile’s comments. But the tension is undeniable — and fans are already calling for a live face-off or diss track showdown.
With egos, history, and talent all in the mix, the Kenyan music scene just got a little hotter.
