Eve Mungai, one of Kenya’s most recognizable digital content creators, has sparked fierce online debate after revealing she regularly receives inappropriate images from married men — and she’s had enough.

Taking to her Instagram Stories over the weekend, Mungai didn’t mince her words. “If you’re a married man and you keep sending me nudes, please know I will start exposing you soon,” she warned. Her message was direct, emotional, and clearly aimed at those crossing a boundary she has grown tired of tolerating.

Mungai, whose candid interviews and lifestyle content have earned her over 500,000 followers on social media, said the issue has become more than just a personal annoyance. “It’s disturbing and disrespectful — not just to me, but to your wives and families,” she added.

Her statement has lit up Kenyan social media, where opinions remain sharply divided.

Some came to her defense. “It’s sad that women still have to ask for basic respect online,” one user posted. Others, however, took a more skeptical view – accusing her of seeking attention or exaggerating the situation.

One popular comment read: “Deep down tunajua hakuna kitu kama hio [Deep down we know that’s not true],” while another quipped, “Definitely a perfect match with Mulamwah,” referencing a fellow internet personality known for courting controversy.

Despite the backlash, Mungai has not backed down. She insists her message is not about clout, but setting clear boundaries in a digital space where such lines are often blurred.

This isn’t the first time a public figure in Kenya has spoken out about harassment online, but Mungai’s approach – threatening to name names — is more aggressive than most. Her call-out also raises broader questions: what constitutes digital consent, how far can influencers go in calling out misconduct, and what legal protections exist in such cases?

Kenya’s laws on cyber harassment remain vague in practice. While the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act criminalizes the sharing of obscene content without consent, many women report that enforcement is inconsistent and slow.

“There is still a lot of stigma around speaking out,” says digital rights advocate Caroline Njiru. “Women who call out online harassment are often ridiculed or accused of chasing fame.”

For Mungai, the choice now seems clear. “I will protect my peace,” she said, urging her followers to report inappropriate messages and draw firm personal boundaries.

Whether or not she follows through on her threat to expose names, her post has clearly touched a nerve — shining light on an uncomfortable truth in Kenya’s growing digital culture.
