LONDON — Prince William received a touching Father’s Day tribute from his three children, shared Sunday through the official account of the Prince and Princess of Wales. Two new family photos were released, capturing a personal and playful side of the heir to the throne.
The images, taken in Norfolk by photographer Josh Shinner, show the prince with Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7. One portrait shows the four standing outdoors with arms around each other, smiling directly at the camera. The second photo, in black and white, captures a relaxed moment of the group lying in the grass, laughing and embracing.
Along with the photos came a short message from the children: “Happy Father’s Day, Papa (before and after!) We love you! G, C & L”, followed by a heart emoji.
The photos were taken ahead of Saturday’s Trooping the Colour ceremony, which the family attended together to mark King Charles III’s official birthday. An image from the event was also shared, showing Prince William in military dress, with Catherine and Charlotte in coordinated blue outfits, and George and Louis in suits and red ties.
Photographer Josh Shinner has worked with the family before, including their 2023 Christmas card. Last year’s Father’s Day image, taken by Princess Catherine, showed William and the children looking out over the sea with their arms around each other.
The Royal Family’s Instagram account also marked the occasion. One black and white photo shows the late Prince Philip pushing a young King Charles and Princess Anne on a swing. Another image features Queen Camilla arm-in-arm with her late father, Major Bruce Shand, on her 2005 wedding day.
The Royal Family’s Father’s Day messages come as they continue a string of recent public appearances, offering a rare, intimate glimpse into personal moments behind palace gates.
