They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend — well, Jennifer Lopez has very many best friends thanks to her multiple engagements.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are splitting after she filed for divorce on Tuesday, August 20.
This was their second engagement as a couple and their sixth engagement.
J.Lo, who grew up in the Bronx, is a multi-talented artist who can sing, dance, and act (well, sorta), and even though her love doesn’t cost a thing, the rings certainly do.
Allow us to walk you through an illustrious guide of Jennifer Lopez’s engagement rings, their worth, and any other unique specs they possess courtesy of People;
1. Ojani Noa: Marquise-shaped diamond ring
In 1997, Lopez tied the knot with her first husband, Noa. He proposed to her with a marquise-shaped diamond on a gold band.
Their marriage lasted 11 months before they officially divorced in January 1998.
2. Cris Judd: Emerald-cut diamond ring
So, Lopez and her backup dancer Judd met on the set of her music video for “Love Don’t Cost A Thing” back in 2000.
And get this – he proposed to her with a diamond ring set on a yellow-gold band. Cool, right?
The couple got married on September 29, 2001, at a private residence in Calabasas, California.
A year later in July 2002, Lopez filed for divorce, and their marriage was officially over in January 2003.
3. Ben Affleck: Pink diamond ring
So, after meeting while filming Gigli, Affleck popped the question to Lopez with a 6-carat radiant-cut pink diamond ring from Harry Winston.
The custom ring had two white accent diamonds and was said to be worth around $2.5 million.
Lopez later shared that Affleck had the word “sing” engraved on her ring.
The couple was scheduled to marry in Santa Barbara, California, on September 14, 2003, but cancelled four days earlier officially ending their relationship in January 2004.
Harry Winston reacquired Lopez’s pink engagement ring in February 2005, and the sparkler was put on sale.
4. Marc Anthony – Blue diamond ring
After ending her engagement to Affleck, Lopez reunited with her ex-boyfriend Anthony.
They dated for six months before marrying in a private ceremony at Lopez’s Beverly Hills home in June 2004.
The engagement ring of the Marry Me actor from Harry Winston had an 8.5-carat radiant-cut blue diamond as its main stone and baguette-cut accent diamonds.
Jennifer Lopez and Anthony finalised their divorce in June 2014.
5. Alex Rodriguez – Emerald-cut diamond ring
In March 2019, A-Rod popped the question to J.Lo in the Bahamas with a huge 16-carat diamond ring worth over $1 million.
They were supposed to get married in Italy in June 2020, but they had to delay it because of COVID-19.
They postponed the wedding again and eventually called off the whole thing in April 2021.
6. Ben Affleck – Green diamond ring
Did you know that 17 years after breaking off their engagement, J.Lo and Ben Affleck reconnected in April 2021?
A year later, Affleck proposed to her a second time with a stunning ring estimated to be worth over $5 million.
The ring features an 8.5-carat radiant-cut green diamond flanked by two half-moon accent diamonds, all set on a platinum band.
According to a diamond expert, natural green diamonds are very rare, and the value of this gem is expected to increase significantly over time.
Lopez shared in an interview that Affleck engraved her ring with a special message: “not.going.anywhere.”
It was how he would sign his emails when they started talking again, assuring her that he wasn’t going anywhere.
After reports of tension in Lopez and Affleck’s marriage surfaced in May 2024, Lopez officially filed for divorce on Aug. 20.
Not. Going. Anywhere. Jennifer Lopez may have lost Affleck’s love, but she’ll find solace in knowing that diamonds, a girl’s best friend, last forever.
