What people don’t Know about Extroverts?

Extroverts are people who are typically considered outgoing, have high self-esteem, are energized by being around other people, are socially confident and enjoy being in large social gatherings or public speaking.

Additionally, extroverts are also generally very open and willing to share their thoughts and feelings, which makes other people perceive them as warm and open.

However, these individuals have also some difficulties which are rarely discussed. One is they can have a hard time socializing too. Despite being more social than introverts, they can get angry, upset, or have any other negative emotions, but may tend to get quiet and hide them due to their image. As they would not want to upset others with their own emotions.

Second is that they can unknowingly hurt other people’s feelings with their words. This may happen when they are making a funny joke about someone, but the joke ends up looking like an insult.

Another difficulty they face is hiding their emotions. This is because they sometimes pretend to be happy and flash a smile, whereas they are actually sad deep inside. Also people are already used to seeing them happy, therefore would not realise when their counterparts sadness.

In addition, due to them having different categories of friends to discuss different issues. They sometimes end up not having a mutual friend. That is, a friend who they can sincerely tell their problems when they are down.

People also tend to think that extroverts are overly-talkative or attention seekers. However, in reality they are simply trying to gain energy and confidence in themselves.

Extroverted individuals can also be touchy sometimes. This may not be handled well by their introverted counterparts who are less likely to initiate physical contacts like hugs.
