Celebrity romances do not always have a happy ending. After a few years of marriage and sometimes even kids, the couple files for a divorce and has one of them losing money and another smiling their way to the bank.
Over the couple of years, there have been celebrities who have big settlements from their divorce. Here is a list of some of the biggest celebrity divorce settlement:
Jeff Bezos and Mackenzie Scott.
The two filed for a divorce in 2019 after being married for 25 years and had four children. The two released a joint statement saying
After a long period of loving explorationand trial separation, we have decided to divorce and continue our shared lives as friends. We feel incredibly lucky to have found each other and deeply grateful for everyone of the years we have been married to each other. If we had known we would separate after 25 years, we would do it all again.
Shortly after, rumors that Jeff Bezos was seeing former Goodday La co-host and now fiancé Lauren Sanchez. According to a source, both their spouses had known about the relationship and their families dealt with it in the fall.
According to their settlement, Mackenzie was left with4% stake of Amazon which is worth more than $38 billion dollars.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.
Kim Kardashian filed for a divorce in 2021 after being married for over seven years and having four kids together. Their divorce has been a public show with Kanye sharing his thoughts on his social media over the divorce and the Kardashian family. In season two of the Hulu reality show, The Kardashians, Kim says that she has been trying to get Kanye to sign the divorce papers.
According to their prenup, they share spousal support and Kanye has agreed to pay Kim $200k per month for child support. The two share legal and joint custody of their kids.
Alex Rodriguez and Cynthia Scurtis.
The couple got divorced in 2008 after six years of marriage and two kids together.
Alex pays $115k per month tax free for both spousal and child custody. In 2018, it was rumored that Alex threatened to stop paying the child support but he said that;
I have always paid more than maximum child support and that will never change, my daughters are my number one priority and will always be.
Alex Rodriguez
Britney Spears and Kevin Federline.
Britney filed for a divorce in 2006 after two years of marriage and two kids.
Kevin got $1.3 million dollars settlement and $20k per month for child support from 2008 until 2018, when he requested an increase and for Britney to cover his legal fees. At the time, Britney was orderd to pay Kevin $110k on their on-going battle.
