Principal Secretary of Correctional Services, Esther Ngero, becomes the first senior official to resign from cabinet since being sworn in by President William Ruto.
Esther Ngero was transferred six days ago from the Office of the Principle Cabinet Secretary to the State Department for Performance Management and Delivery Services, Ministry of Interior and National Administration.
According to the press release from the office of the President, she resigned for’ personal reasons’. Ruto has given her a glowing recommendation and appreciation for her time in government.

Principal Secretaries are the accounting officers of the state departments they are assigned according to the constitution. With this, she was the accounting secretary to Cabinet Secretary, Musalia Mudavadi.
Esther Ngero resigns from office just a few days after the reshuffle and reassignment she was given.
