Nairobi County gubernatorial aspirant Johnson Sakaja’s Bachelor of
Science in Management Degree from the Team University of Uganda has been
revoked by the Commission of the University Education (CUE).
According to the letter addressed to Nairobi senator Sakaja from
the Commission (CUE). “Information received on the commission table raised
questions about the validity of Sakaja’s academic credentials. The commission
however affirmed to open a tangible probe into the validity of the papers
Sakaja presented before the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission
(IEBC) for clearance to run for the Gubernatorial seat.” reads the CUE
statement.
Meanwhile, the IEBC has intimated that the letter from CUE should
be presented before the IEBC resolution committee for authentication, failure
to which, it will not be considered.
This comes a few hours after Sakaja who was on the campaign trail
at Mukuru Kwa Njenga accused his rivals that they have plans to derail his
political ambitions.
“Kuna wadosi wamekaa mahali wanasema kijana wa mtu wa kawaida
hawezi kuwa Governor wa Nairobi, said Sakaja.
“Si mnaona wananiandama na makesi eti wanasema sijasoma na mimi
niko na makaratasi kwa sababu nimseoma… Ila naomba Mungu atatushikilia na
Inshallah nitakuwa debeni kama mgombea wa kiti cha ugavana Nairobi”, added
Sakaja.
Senator Sakaja has been in pain, explaining where and when he
attended the University considering his academic scandals keep on escalating
every single day.
On June 7, the IEBC team gave him a nod to contest the Nairobi
Gubernatorial seat despite the rumours that spread all over claiming Sakaja to
have a fake University degree.
Days after his clearance by the IEBC, reports indicated that
Senator Sakaja submitted a degree from Team University in Uganda for clearance
with the IEBC.
What followed was a letter alleged to be from IEBC addressing Team
University Dean of Students Ellen Katusabe.
However, the IEBC termed the letter questioning the legality of
Sakaja’s degree to be fake and should not be considered by any person.
