President William Ruto will on Friday, January 13 start a two-day developmental Nyanza region tour, covering Kisumu, Homa Bay, and Siaya counties respectively.
In his Nyanza region tour, President Ruto will launch various projects that are in line with the government’s bottom-up economic agenda.
The Head of State has assured that his administration will implement projects countrywide without fear or favor on which tribe to take Lion’s share.
“Local leaders in the region will be at hand to receive the President and present the needs and concerns of the people,” Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma clarified on the issue.
“The President will launch the outlined projects including the first phase of the 5,000 affordable housing program for Homa Bay County. The project is expected to not only alleviate the housing deficit in the county but also significantly boost the local economy,” said the State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohammed.

The affordable housing program seeks to ensure Kenyan citizens have access to low-cost and decent housing on the other and create jobs for thousands of youths for the economic upgrade.
According to Hussein Mohammed, a total of 39 counties have already identified land on which affordable modern houses will be built.

The Kenya Kwanza regime looks to reduce the housing gap, which currently stands at 2 million units with the target being to increase the supply from 50,000 to 200,000 annually.
