Siaya County Governor, James Orengo on Tuesday said that he will work with the National Government in order to achieve developmental goals in the county.
In a Speech read on his behalf by the County Secretary, Philip Owade during the 59th Jamhuri Day Celebrations held at the KMTC Grounds, Governor Orengo stated that both the assigned units and the National Government could not work in Isolation.
“I will smartly continue working with the National Government because the Two Levels of Government cannot afford to work in Isolation,” Siaya Governor said in a written statement.
In a written speech, he said that devolution was created as part of the overall Framework to involve Kenyan nationals in matters that concern them after the realization of revisionist development right from Independence.

Also, the Governor said that the challenges brought about by the new system of Government will not obstruct his Administration from Initiating Development Programs that will help reduce poverty amongst Siaya people.
In addition, the governor clarified that the Fruits of Devolution can only be realized when Participatory Planning and sensible Management of resources is undertaken by the Nationals.
