Beijing: China’s Shenzhou-14 astronauts installed a connection device between the modules of the Country’s Space Station on Thursday, November 17, 2022, during their 3rd extravehicular activities-EVAs.
In a technological mission, astronauts: Chen Dong and Cai Xuzhe exited the Cabin, and Liv Yang stayed inside the Cabin for support. The Extravehicular Activities is expected to last at least six and a half hours, according to China manned Space Agency.
During the scientific mission, the two crew members outside the Cabin will work together to conduct tasks such as the installation of the connection device between Modules, and the lifting of the Panoramic Camera of the Wentian Lab Module.
The scientific progress is China’s 7th EVA at the Space Station (SS).
Outlining technological viewpoint, the Shenzhou-14 astronauts successfully completed their first two EVAs in September this year, both from the Airlock Cabin of the Wentian Lab Modules.
The 1st EVAs lasted about seven hours and the 2nd one on a mission lasted about five hours.
China’s 3 Shenzhou-14 Crew members were significantly sent into Space in June 2022, on a six-month scientific Space Research.
As programmed, the Shenzhou-14 Crew will welcome the arrival of the Shenzhou-15 manned Spacecraft at the Space Station at the end of this month.
Further, the Shenzhou-15 Crew members will simply join the Shenzhou-14 astronauts for the Space Station’s 1st ever Crew rotation.
