Kenneth Petty, husband to musician and rapper, Nicki Minaj, has been sentenced to a three-year probationary term and a year of house
arrest for failing to register as a sex offender in Los Angeles.
The 44-year-old was sentenced to pay a $55,000 fine after he admitted to failing to register as a sex offender back in September last year.

Kenneth was reportedly pulled over by Beverly Hills
police in November 2019, who discovered he was a registered sex offender in New
York, but had not registered in California and was arrested for the same.
He was subsequently charged with failing to register as a sex offender and freed on a $20,000 bail.According to Page Six, Petty was detained in March
2020 after failing to comply with a November 2019 order to register as a sex
offender in California.
He was found guilty of attempting to rape a 16-year-old
girl in 1994, and as a result, he was forced by law to register as a sex
offender in New York before starting his relationship with Minaj.
Kenneth failed to follow suit and left the state in October 2019, after
marrying Minaj.
Over the years, Nicki Minaj has defended her husband and even once addressed his case on Instagram back in 2018.“He was 15, she was 16 … in a relationship. But
go awf, internet, y’all can’t run my life. y’all can’t even run y’all own
life”
relating to Petty’s offense.
