The King received The Rt Hon Rishi Sunak MP at Buckingham Palace today. His Majesty asked him to form a new Administration. Mr. Sunak accepted His Majesty’s offer and was appointed Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury.
Rishi Sunak was announced as the new Prime minister of the U.K after a successful election of Mp’s on Monday.
Rishi Sunak will be the first Man of color to lead the U.K. The 42-year-old has both African and Indian roots since his father was born in Kenya while his mother was in Tanzania.
Rishi Sunak is tasked to steer the economically floundering nation days after his predecessor Liz Truss stepped down, conceding defeat after 45 days in Office.
He will be the youngest person to occupy the office in history.
In his inaugural speech he said. “I promise you this – we will not leave the next generation with a debt to settle that we were too weak to pay ourselves. I will unite our country, not with words, but with action. I will work day in and day out to deliver for you.”

Rishi Sunak studied at Oxford and Stanford University. He is married to Akshta Murthy, the Daughter of Indian billionaire N.R. Narayana Murthy.
The couple according to The Guardian, is approximated to be worth $820 Million, twice the fortune of King Charles and Queen consort Camilla.
Rishi Sunak and his wife were named the 222nd richest people in the UK this year by The Sunday Times.
