The highlighted situation showed unusual circumstances as metal dealers reaped big from the business.

Key vandalized items include; a battery from a flood light plus street installed lights within Wote town forcing the area residents to close their businesses on time due to early darkness.

Making strong directives, the County Commissioner alerted the police in Makueni to take control and arrest the scrap metal dealers in the affected areas with a solid measure to curb vandalization at large.

“We are here not to joke around with highly ranked stupidity of vandalizing government infrastructures if found you will face the law’’, Ms. Opwora made a clarification in Makueni county after delivering President Ruto’s speech at Onoa grounds during Kenya’s Mashujaa day celebrations.

“Make sure your business is fully approved and licensed at any operating hours or days’’, she added to her statement.

Ms. Commissioner singled out that the county government, as well as the National Government, will greatly work together in order to overcome the scrap metal activities and also carry out business at a free zone area.

On the other hand, Makueni Governor-Mutula Kilonzo Jnr related the problem by singling out that illegal scrap metal dealers should be arrested for stealing public property.
