Tifa Poll: UDA leads in popularity ahead of election

United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party takes the lead with a margin of 33 percent of popularity countrywide while ODM crop up as the runners-up with 26 percent popularity, an opinion poll conducted by Tifa Research Company. The polls released yesterday by Tifa from the national survey conducted between June 25 and June 30 show that the UDA Presidential Candidate William Ruto obtains equal support from both males and females unlike his close opponent Raila Odinga who dominate more support from males over females.

Over the last two years, the two genders have traded places in terms of which has given Ruto more support. At present, however, they are statistically tied (of just 2% within the margin of error). However, and perhaps curiously his support among women since Tifa’s previous survey has increased significantly more among women by (6%), even though he chose a male, Gachagua, as his running mate, in contrast to Odinga who chose a female (Karua),” Tifa opinion polls.According to Tifa, Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya alliance’s Raila Odinga is generally implied to be the most preferred presidential candidate with 42 percent followed closely by Deputy President William Ruto at 39 percent while Roots Party Presidential Candidate controls 4 percent of popularity.

Agano Party candidate David Mwaure did not feature in the poll. The rise of Prof. George Wajackoyah into the presidential race has tilted the possible win of Raila and Ruto in the upcoming election.According to the poll, Wajackoya has impeded the 50+1 percent threshold, causing a possible rerun to occur after the election. However, the Tifa survey has pledged to decern the appropriate opinion poll results in the upcoming few weeks to determine the potential winner. The recent appearance and rise of one of the two other candidates, Prof. Wajackoyah of the Roots Party (now at 4%) at least raises the possibility that neither Odinga nor Ruto will be able to secure an outright, first-round win. “But this possibility should be more accurately assessed based on Tifa’s next pre-election survey in a few weeks,” Read part of the Tifa poll statement.
