Kitui Governor, Charity Ngilu, has paved the way for other candidates to contest the County gubernatorial seat.
The Azimio Presidential candidate Raila Odinga, said Ngilu will not defend the governor seat come the August 9, General Election, as she will be offered an important position in his administration.
In his political tour in Mutha Township in Kitui County, Raila persuaded the residents to choose between Jubilee candidate David Musila and Wiper’s Julius Malombe.
“You will decide between former Governor Julius Malombe and former Senator David Musila who will be your governor. I want to take mama to Nairobi,” he said.
The Kitui County Governor has been facing intense competition from Malombe, Senator Musila, and former Nairobi deputy governor Jonathan Mueke who is seeking the Kitui gubernatorial seat on a United Democratic Alliance ticket.

On Party choices, the ODM leader advises the residents to be free in picking the candidates from the 26 parties under the Azimio-Oka party coalition.
“We have Jubilee, ODM, Narc, Narc Kenya in the team of 26 parties… It is you who decides who to vote for from among the parties since we are all in Azimio,” Raila said.
Meanwhile, Ngilu’s step is expected to throw the Kitui gubernatorial race — which has already intensified — wide open,
