The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has confirmed the arrest of three suspects linked to the recent attack on Godfrey Osotsi in Kisumu.
In a statement released on Thursday afternoon, detectives revealed that the arrests were made following swift investigations into the violent incident that shocked the nation.
According to the DCI, the attack took place at Java House located within West End Mall in Kisumu, where the Vihiga Senator had reportedly gone for routine errands.
The incident, which initially drew condemnation from leaders including Edwin Sifuna, raised serious concerns over the safety of public officials and civilians alike.
Suspects Identified and Held in Custody
The three suspects have been identified as Carlos Owiti alias Kalonje (24) from Nyalenda, Eric Otieno alias Dude (39) from Manyatta, and Vincent Odhiambo alias Tinga (27), also from Nyalenda.
Authorities confirmed that the suspects are currently in police custody and are being processed for arraignment in court as investigations progress.
The DCI emphasized that efforts are ongoing to track down additional individuals believed to have been involved in the attack.
Detectives have appealed to the public to continue sharing information that could assist in ensuring all perpetrators are brought to justice.
“The Directorate of Criminal Investigations thanks members of the public who have volunteered useful information and urges continued cooperation,” the statement read.
The agency reiterated its commitment to conducting thorough investigations, noting that further updates will be issued as progress is made.
