Scola Onsongo delivered an outstanding performance to clinch the overall title at the inaugural Invest Kenya Golf Tournament (IKGT), held at the prestigious Muthaiga Golf Club on March 28, 2026.
Playing off a handicap of 24, Onsongo posted an impressive 45 Stableford points to emerge victorious ahead of a competitive field of 200 golfers.
The landmark event brought together corporate leaders, investors, and both amateur and professional players, blending competitive sport with high-level networking.

The tournament showcased depth in talent across various categories. Jaspal Nyotta claimed the Men’s Winner title with 39 points (handicap 25), narrowly edging Men’s Runner-Up Charles Gitahi, who also recorded 39 points while playing off handicap 21.
In the women’s category, Damaris Opemi triumphed with 38 points (handicap 31), while P. Wanjiru secured the runner-up position with 37 points (handicap 22).
The competitive edge displayed throughout the tournament underlined Kenya’s growing stature in golf, both regionally and internationally
Speaking during the awards ceremony, Invest Kenya CEO John Mwendwa emphasized the importance of integrating business with leisure.
“We are proud to host our very first golf tournament which integrates business and fun at the fairways, providing the ideal networking platform for investors,” he said.
