US State Department Issues ‘Depart Now’ Alert for Americans Across the Middle East

The U.S. State Department has issued an urgent “depart now” advisory for American citizens currently in multiple countries across the Middle East, warning of serious and escalating safety risks.

In a security update released on March 2, the department urged Americans in the affected nations to leave immediately using available commercial travel options while they remain operational.

Officials cautioned that the security environment in the region is volatile and could deteriorate rapidly.

The advisory applies to Americans in Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt, Lebanon, Iran, Oman, Iraq, Qatar, Israel, the West Bank and Gaza, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Jordan, United Arab Emirates and Yemen.

While the State Department did not disclose specific threat intelligence in its public notice, the alert comes amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing instability in parts of the Middle East following back and forth attacks between Iran, U.S. and Israel.

Officials warned that flight disruptions and sudden security developments could make departure more difficult if Americans delay.

The department emphasized that citizens should rely on commercial travel options rather than waiting for possible government-organized evacuations.

Travelers are also advised to remain vigilant, closely monitor official communications, and ensure their travel documents are valid and accessible.

The State Department said it will continue to monitor developments and provide further updates as necessary.
