President Ruto Weighs In on Raphael Tuju Saga, Defends Uhuru Kenyatta as Kalonzo Fires Back

President William Ruto addresses the Raphael Tuju disappearance saga, defends Uhuru Kenyatta, and clashes with Kalonzo Musyoka.

President William Ruto has waded into the unfolding saga surrounding Raphael Tuju, accusing opposition leaders of misleading the former Cabinet minister amid his reported disappearance and reappearance.

Speaking during separate engagements in Siaya and Migori counties, the Head of State criticized individuals he claims are taking advantage of Tuju’s situation for political gain.

Ruto alleged that some opposition figures had advised Tuju to stage his disappearance.

“They are telling Tuju to go hide in his bedroom and then claim he has been abducted, just imagine,” said the president.

The president emphasized that Tuju needs genuine support rather than opportunistic political actors.

“Tuju needs honest friends and proper advice so he can be helped. His property should be protected so that he can move forward, but he does not need conmen and crooks who are dragging the name of Uhuru Kenyatta into their mess,” Ruto added.

He further urged those linking former President Kenyatta to the dispute to stop, defending his predecessor from what he termed as unwarranted attacks.

Kalonzo Musyoka Responds to Ruto

Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka fired back at the president, dismissing his remarks and accusing him of holding the key to resolving the dispute.

“He should come out and be a true friend. Let us remain the so-called scavengers. Since he is the one holding the ‘meat’, which is the title deed of the property, he is the vulture holding onto it. We are simply asking him to release it. That is all we are asking, instead of insulting leaders and calling them names,” Kalonzo said.

The exchange highlights growing political tensions surrounding the Tuju property dispute, which has drawn in key figures across Kenya’s political divide.

The public spat underscores the deepening rift between the government and opposition, with each side trading accusations over responsibility and integrity.

As the situation continues to unfold, attention remains on how the dispute will be resolved and whether Tuju will receive the support needed to navigate the ongoing controversy.
