Kenya Airways Reassures Customers on Operational Stability Despite 2025 Net Loss

Kenya Airways assures customers of normal operations and service continuity despite reporting a net loss for 2025.

Kenya Airways has moved to reassure customers, partners, and stakeholders that its operations remain stable and unaffected despite recently reporting a net loss for the financial year ending December 2025.

In an official communication update released on March 30, 2026, the national carrier emphasized that all flights are continuing as scheduled across its network.

“We wish to reassure our customers, partners, and the public that our operations remain normal, with flights operating as per schedule across our network,” the airline stated.

Net Loss Attributed to Global Aviation Challenges

Kenya Airways attributed the financial setback to broader industry challenges, noting that the loss was largely driven by global aviation constraints such as fleet shortages and supply chain disruptions.

“We recently reported our financial results for the year ending December 2025, reflecting a net loss primarily driven by well-documented global aviation constraints, including fleet availability and supply chain disruptions,” the statement read.

The airline stressed that these challenges are not unique to its operations and do not affect its ability to meet obligations.

“These are industry-wide challenges that are not unique to Kenya Airways and do not impact our ability to meet our obligations,” the carrier added.

Government Support and Strategic Importance

The airline further highlighted continued backing from the Government of Kenya, underlining its role as a critical national asset.

Kenya Airways expressed confidence in its long-term recovery strategy, pointing to ongoing operational and financial optimisation efforts.

“Kenya Airways remains a viable business with a clear path to recovery, supported by ongoing operational and financial optimization efforts,” the airline said.

The carrier also reflected on its resilience through past crises, including the COVID-19 pandemic and geopolitical disruptions.

The airline assured customers that all valid tickets will be honoured and encouraged continued bookings without hesitation.
