Political temperatures are rising in Western Kenya after Peter Salasya, the Mumias East MP, publicly vented his frustration at Edwin Sifuna ahead of an upcoming rally in Kakamega.
In a strongly worded statement on X, Salasya accused Sifuna of previously insulting him on national television, claiming the Nairobi Senator once referred to him as a “fool” during a live broadcast.
“He Referred to Me as a Fool on National TV” -Salasya
Salasya did not mince his words while expressing his displeasure.
According to the outspoken MP, the remarks made by Sifuna left a lasting impression, fueling personal resentment.
“He referred to me as a fool on national TV. I hate this dude, iko na madharau and arrogant and I can’t associate with him ata kaa dunia yote itamufwata. I invite people of Kakamega to receive him in large numbers, but for me is a big nooo. Hate me because of him, period,” Salasya wrote.
The comments, laced with emotion, highlight the growing friction, even as political alignments continue to shift ahead of key regional engagements.
Kakamega Rally Takes Center Stage
The fallout comes just as leaders prepare for a major political rally in Kakamega County led by a faction of ODM allied to the embattled SG.
While Salasya made it clear he would not associate himself with Sifuna, he nonetheless called upon residents to turn out in large numbers.
The rally is expected to draw significant attention, given the political dynamics in Western Kenya and the presence of high-profile leaders.
