Morara Kebaso Confirms 2027 Political Bid, Says He Is Seeking Serious Party

Political activist Morara Kebaso has officially confirmed that he will be vying for an elective position in the 2027 General Election, signaling his entry into Kenya’s competitive political landscape.

Speaking on his political ambitions, Kebaso said he is actively preparing himself by seeking a “serious” political party platform and mobilizing resources to overcome the financial challenges that come with campaigning.

Kebaso clarified that he does not necessarily need to form his own political party but is open to joining one that aligns with his values.

“I’ll be running for a position in 2027. I’m preparing myself in terms of getting a political party vehicle or joining one which is serious. It doesn’t have to be my own political party. I can join a political party that is serious and that we share values,” he stated.

Morara Focus on Campaign Financing

Kebaso also pointed out the major hurdle of campaign financing, noting that he has observed firsthand the financial demands associated with running for office.

“I’m also preparing myself in terms of resources because I’ve seen the challenge of campaign financing… So yes, I’ll be running.”

Kebaso’s declaration comes at a time when several political figures have already announced their intentions for various seats.

Among those who have declared their bids are tha Kebaso noted are Langata MP Phelix Oduor who has announced he will run for Nairobi Senator in 2027 and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, who has declared his intention to vie for Nairobi Governor.

With more aspirants stepping forward, the 2027 political contest is already shaping up to be highly competitive, particularly in Nairobi County.

While Kebaso confirmed his intention to run, he did not specify the exact seat he intends to contest.
