Kasmuel McOure: President William Ruto Poised for 2027

Kasmuel McOure

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Youth Leader Kasmuel McOure, has declared that William Ruto is firmly on course for a decisive win in the 2027 General Election, citing the strength and structure of the Broad Based political formation backing him.

In a bold political assessment, McOure argued that while the opposition may at times demonstrate superior mobilisation capacity, long-term political success hinges on organisation rather than momentary numbers.

McOure Organisation Over Mobilisation

According to the ODM Youth Leader, the Broad Based team aligned to President Ruto remains the most structurally prepared and strategically organised political force in the country ahead of 2027.

“While the opposition may out-mobilise us occasionally, organisation not mobilisation is what eventually determines power,” McOure stated.

Call for Youth to Negotiate Political Space

McOure further urged young leaders across the political divide to adopt a pragmatic approach and initiate negotiations for a pre-election pact with President Ruto.

He emphasised that youth participation in the next administration must move beyond symbolic representation.

“It is imperative that the youth move deliberately to negotiate a pre-election pact with him through our respective political parties, so that we secure a substantive, transformative role in the next administration, not as mere spectators, but as participants in the exercise of State power,” he noted.

The ODM youth leader also cautioned against emotional decision-making in politics, urging young leaders to act with foresight and purpose.

“We must find our strategic trade-offs, act with foresight and purpose, and never allow emotion to override good judgement,” McOure added.

His remarks are likely to spark debate within ODM ranks and across the broader opposition landscape, especially as political alignments ahead of the 2027 General Election begin to take shape.

With youth voters forming a significant percentage of Kenya’s electorate, calls for structured negotiations and power-sharing arrangements could influence coalition dynamics in the coming months.
