Kenyan gospel singer Jimmy Gait is recovering in hospital after he was allegedly attacked by unidentified robbers at his home in Runda on the morning of February 22, 2026.
The artist, whose real name is James Ngaita, sustained deep cuts to his hands during the incident and is currently receiving treatment at St. Teresa Hospital.
According to reports, the incident occurred at around 10 a.m. in the upscale Runda estate in Nairobi.
The assailants allegedly gained access to his residence, where they attacked him and made away with his mobile phone and other valuables.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and authorities are yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
Singer Speaks from Hospital Bed
In a video recorded from his hospital bed at St. Teresa Hospital, Jimmy Gait shared details of the terrifying ordeal, explaining that he attempted to defend himself during the robbery.
The “Huratiti” hitmaker revealed that he suffered deep cuts on his hands while trying to fend off the attackers.
Despite the painful injuries, he appeared optimistic and thanked God for sparing his life, urging his fans and supporters to keep him in their prayers as he undergoes treatment and recovery.
Jimmy Gait has been a prominent figure in Kenya’s gospel music industry for over a decade, known for his energetic performances and inspirational songs.
The singer is expected to remain under observation as he continues to recover.
