Trump Announces Venezuela to Buy Only American-Made Goods with Oil Deal Revenue

Donald Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that Venezuela will allocate funds from a newly agreed oil deal exclusively toward purchasing American-made products.

The POTUS described as a “wise choice” that strengthens economic ties between the two nations.

Trump has specified that the purchases would include American agricultural products, U.S.-manufactured medicines, medical devices, and equipment to improve Venezuela’s electric grid and energy facilities.

He framed the purchase commitment as Venezuela’s decision to make the United States its principal commercial partner.

“Venezuela is committing to doing business with the United States of America as their principal partner, a wise choice, and a very good thing for the people of Venezuela, and the United States,” Trump wrote.

The announcement follows a broader U.S. strategy to manage Venezuelan oil revenue in the aftermath of diplomatic and security developments involving the arrest of Venezuelan leader Nicholas Maduro.

Under the emerging framework, Venezuelan oil sales will be marketed and revenue flows routed under U.S. oversight, with proceeds earmarked exclusively for purchases of American goods.
