A senior figure within President Donald Trump’s inner circle has ignited conversation after offering a candid assessment of the American leader’s personality.
Sussie Wiles, Trump’s Chief of Staff and a key architect of his successful second-term re-election campaign, drew a controversial comparison during a recent sit-down interview with Vanity Fair, likening the president’s personality to that of an alcoholic.

In the interview, Wiles referenced her personal experience, saying her late father had been a reformed alcoholic, a background she believes gave her insight into certain personality traits.
“Some clinical psychologist that knows one million times more than I do will dispute what I’m going to say,” Wiles remarked.
“But high-functioning alcoholics or alcoholics in general, their personalities are exaggerated when they drink. And so I’m a little bit of an expert in big personalities.”
Wiles went on to describe Trump as having what she termed “an alcoholic’s personality,” clarifying that she was speaking about behavioral traits rather than substance use.
According to Wiles, the president “operates with a view that there’s nothing he can’t do. Nothing, zero, nothing,” suggesting an exaggerated sense of confidence and invincibility that she associates with the personality type she described.
As one of the most trusted figures in his administration, her remarks offer a rare, unfiltered glimpse into how senior allies perceive the president’s character behind closed doors.
