After years of public discord, the Kenyan comedian David Oyando, known as Mulamwah, and his former partner Carol Sonnie have stepped back from the brink. They say the priority now is their daughter, Keilah.
On Tuesday, the pair were seen together with the child. Photos and short videos shared online showed a calm family moment. It was a marked change from a relationship that, for nearly four years, had unfolded in full view of the public.
The message was simple. Past grievances would be set aside. Co-parenting would come first.

According to people familiar with the arrangement, Sonnie has agreed to give Mulamwah regular access to Keilah. Those close to the family describe it as a practical decision, aimed at giving the child stability.
The shift has surprised many. Their breakup was loud and bitter. Both sides aired grievances online. At one point, Mulamwah publicly questioned the child’s paternity, a claim that drew widespread criticism and deepened the rift.
The arguments played out across social media, fuelling debate in entertainment circles and beyond. Fans took sides. Critics worried about the toll on a child growing up in the spotlight.
Since then, Mulamwah’s personal life has remained turbulent. After separating from Sonnie, he entered a highly public relationship with content creator Ruth K. They later had a child together. That relationship collapsed in April 2025 amid allegations of infidelity, money disputes and emotional strain.
The fallout grew darker. Mulamwah faced accusations of sharing Ruth K’s private images without consent, including material allegedly circulated to family members and posted on a child’s account he managed. Both parties later issued public apologies, as online anger mounted and questions about privacy and responsibility returned to the fore.
Financial pressure also surfaced, with reports of cash troubles following heavy spending on a house project. The episode prompted broader discussion in Kenya about public feuds, fame and the children caught in between.
Against that backdrop, the truce with Sonnie has drawn mixed reactions. Some fans have welcomed what they see as maturity. Others remain wary, questioning whether such moments need to be shared so publicly.
