Guinness World Records Yet to Confirm Truphena Muthoni’s 72-Hour Tree-Hugging Feat

Guinness World Records confirms Truphena Muthoni’s official tree-hugging record still stands at 48 hours as her recent 72-hour attempt in Kenya awaits verification

Guinness World Records (GWR) has confirmed that Kenyan environmental activist Truphena Muthoni’s official record for the longest time hugging a single tree remains 48 hours, as her recent 72-hour record attempt is yet to be ratified.

In a statement, Guinness World Records noted that while Muthoni’s latest attempt has generated significant public interest, the verification process is still ongoing.

“Her current record stands at 48 hours, achieved earlier this year,” Guinness World Records said, adding that the organisation is awaiting and assessing the necessary evidence from her most recent challenge.

Truphena Muthoni’s latest tree-hugging attempt, conducted this week in Kenya, was driven by what Guinness World Records described as “a deep-rooted passion for trees and the vital role they play in our ecosystem.”

The eco-warrior’s effort has sparked widespread conversation across social media platforms, with fans and environmental advocates applauding her commitment to conservation and climate awareness.

Guinness World Records Verification Process Underway

Guinness World Records acknowledged the growing excitement among Muthoni’s supporters, noting that her attempt has inspired numerous comments and engagements on their social channels.

“We know Truphena’s fans are excited to hear the results and we look forward to receiving and assessing the evidence,” the organisation said.

Until the review is complete and the evidence meets GWR’s strict guidelines, Muthoni’s officially recognised record remains the 48-hour feat, which she achieved earlier this year in Nairobi.

If ratified, the 72-hour tree-hugging marathon would see Muthoni break her own record, further cementing her status as one of Kenya’s most visible environmental advocates.

For now, however, the world awaits Guinness World Records’ final verdict.
