The popular broad-based arrangement was politically meant to be a warm up to unity of purpose between UDA and ODM in winning 2027 elections.
The untimely demise of Rt Hon. Raila Odinga is likely to a create a stronger and deeper bond for the said purpose
With UDA dwindling in unpopularity and with the loss of its Mount Kenya Constituents and with ODM struggling with sense of direction and internal unity, the two factions find undeniable need to lean on each other.
The coalition of the Two parties must however be founded on shared Presidency, with the Presidential Candidate and Running Mate hailing from their independent parties of coalition
While William Ruto remains the Presidential candidate of UDA, the question remains, who is best suited as his running mate?

While Launching Female Governors Caucus on 7th March 2024, President Ruto declared that going forward his policy shall dictate an opposite gender as a running mate. Equally The Late Hon. Raila Odinga while endorsing Martha Karua as His running Mate in 2022 had declared that women too deserve a voice at the Presidency level
With the same spirit from the two leaders and with the Female agenda appearing politically saleable, the question narrows to who is the best suited female candidate from ODM to deputize William Ruto?
Born in 1981, the Young Gladys Wanga beats all odds to be the First Female Governor from Western-Nyanza Region and the First Female National Chair of ODM party
The Late Phoebe Asiyo, has Wanga as “a grass root mobilizer, profound negotiator and chief loyalist.” Her Charisma, humor and sense of empathy makes her most suitable and likeable among her peers
Ruto-Wanga Ticket is likely to be the face of Kenya’s new politics propelling women to top leadership and one which might win the next election with more than 70%
