Paris — Former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau and American singer Katy Perry have confirmed their relationship after being photographed together at a Paris cabaret over the weekend.
The pair were seen hand in hand as they left the famed Crazy Horse club on Saturday night, where they celebrated Perry’s 41st birthday. Perry wore a red dress with a scoop neckline, while Trudeau appeared in a dark suit and black shirt.

Outside, fans sang “Happy Birthday” as the two smiled for photographers before getting into a waiting car. It was their first public appearance as a couple.
Their outing followed months of speculation. In July, they were first spotted having dinner at Le Violon in Montreal. Days later, Trudeau was seen attending one of Perry’s concerts with one of his three children. Earlier this month, photographs surfaced showing the pair on a yacht off California, where they appeared relaxed and affectionate.
A source told People magazine that the two had an “instant connection” and “a lot in common,” adding that both were taking things slowly as they adjusted to new chapters in their lives.
“It will take a while to see where this goes,” the source said. “She’s travelling around the world, and he’s figuring out his life now that he’s no longer prime minister of Canada, but there is an attraction.”
Trudeau, 53, stepped down earlier this year after polls suggested his Liberal Party was heading toward a heavy election loss. He and his wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, announced their separation in 2023 after 18 years of marriage. They have three children.
Perry, known for hits such as Firework and Roar, ended her engagement to British actor Orlando Bloom earlier this year.
Their appearance at the Crazy Horse — one of Paris’s most famous cabarets, known for its artistic burlesque performances — was not entirely spontaneous. The exit appeared choreographed, with photographers ready as Perry was handed two roses before they left.
The club, founded in 1951 by Alain Bernardin, has long drawn celebrities and artists from around the world. Over the years, it has hosted performers such as Pamela Anderson, who once took to the stage in a Harley Davidson-themed show.
