The impossible is about to happen. Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather — two names that define boxing’s modern history — are set to fight in 2026.
The news broke on Thursday night when Tyson, 59, stunned fans with a poster on Instagram. It read only two words: “Coming Soon.” The image, split between the faces of both men, sent the boxing world into a frenzy.
Tyson, long retired but never forgotten, admitted even he was surprised.
“This fight is something neither the world nor I ever thought would or could happen,” he said. “I still can’t believe Floyd wants to really do this. It’s going to be detrimental to his health, but it’s signed and it’s happening.”
Mayweather, now 49, answered with the calm confidence that has defined his career. Speaking to TMZ Sports, he said:
“I’ve been doing this for 30 years and there hasn’t been a single fighter that can tarnish my legacy. You already know that if I do something, it’s going to be big — it’s going to be legendary. This exhibition will give the fans what they want.”
