During the 2022 campaigns, the current government promised us heaven while here on earth. They made us believe there will be change and hopefully we will live in paradise.
Before assuming office during an interview on one of the local TV stations, the current President promised that immediately he puts the Bible down, he will address the high cost of living for instance, the Unga crisis and promised to deal with the cartels in Unga subsidy. Ruto said flour will be decreased to Ksh.100 per 2kg packet.
When current President ascended to power, things went messy more than it was during Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration. Unga prizes hiked and fuel prices hiked from Ksh.159 per liter of petrol to Ksh.179 per liter- a huge increase more than ever.
The President resort to launching roads and not constructing them. They come on the ground with the contractor, do the survey and approximation and treasury disburses the money for the project, then it’s launched after a few days. Another project that was launched and has never been constructed was the Kabonyo Kanyagwal fisheries.
During the campaigns the President promised to uplift the boda boda sector.They claimed that their government will be a government of mama mboga and Kenyans in the boda boda sector. After assuming office he appointed key politicians who helped him to clinch the highest office on the land. Majority of the citizens believed that mama mboga and boda boda will make appearances in the cabinet but there wasn’t.
After the controversial finance bill protest, the President dismissed his entire cabinet and promised to cut the number of his advisors by half. He further promised to cut on hosterity measures to reduce on unnecessary expenditures but after some time things went back to normal. Some of the Cabinet Secretaries that were dismissed made an appearance on the next appointment.
