Khaligraph Jones Stuns with KSh 100K Gift and Genius Clap-Back

Khaligraph Jones, one of Kenya’s most prominent hip-hop artists, has once again shown why he remains a commanding figure both on stage and online. In a week marked by criticism, he responded not with anger but with generosity and wit.

The rapper, often referred to as The OG, surprised veteran singer Nyota Ndogo by sending her KSh 100,000. The gesture followed her public praise of his music and her suggestion that he collaborate with Tanzanian star Mbosso. Sharing the M-Pesa message with fans, Nyota Ndogo wrote: “nimemfeel appreciated. OG MUST BE RESPECTED.” The gift, she said, left her speechless and grateful. It was widely viewed as more than charity. To many, it was a bridge between two generations of Kenyan music and a reminder of Khaligraph’s influence beyond the studio.

At the same time, the rapper faced accusations from fellow artist Rapcha, who claimed Khaligraph’s style and image were inauthentic. Instead of firing back, he changed his social media profile photo to a picture of Rapcha himself. The understated gesture lit up the internet. Fans called it a sharp yet playful response—one that carried no insult but said plenty.

Amid the online chatter, Khaligraph released a new freestyle titled “Fame and Drip”, inspired by Clipse’s early 2000s hit “Chains & Whips.” In it, he showcased his lyrical edge while paying tribute to younger Kenyan acts such as Reckless of Ethic Genge. The video also contained a subtle nod to another rival, Octopizzo. Known for criticising Khaligraph’s casual fashion, Octopizzo had mocked him for always wearing sweatpants. In the new release, Khaligraph appeared in a fitted suit, a look that drew cheers and jokes from fans.

Online comments captured the mood. One fan joked: “Octo ndio dawa yako, mpaka ukavaa suti sasa.” Others praised Khaligraph’s calm handling of criticism and his willingness to uplift fellow musicians. From a cash gift to a clever clap-back and a sharp freestyle, the rapper has shown that success need not come with bitterness. Sometimes, as Khaligraph Jones seems to suggest, silence and generosity speak loudest.
